Opus's Letterpress Workshop.
Last Friday Opus embarked on a day's workshop learning about the wonderful world of letterpress. The day was part of a series of day workshops launched by Mr Smith at his new workshop in Iliffe Yard, Kennington, London. We learnt everything from the fundamentals of typography, setting wooden & metal type to designing with the process of letterpress, producing a final piece which all the team had contributed to. It was a fantastic day and we're all looking forward to the next one. More photos to follow...

World cup fever reaches SW19
To rise above our shameful exit from the World Cup, we put on a little tournament of our own, in the shadow of our most glorious hour in 1966. Lots of hard table action resulted in predictable winners - simply the best players won the day!

Tamsin & Poppy.
The news of Poppy has spread globally (!) and we were asked to be in an article for the Japanese cycling magazine 'Bicycle Beauty'. We had a great day cycling around in the sunshine being photographed, who says being a model isn't fun! Special thanks to Mr Smith, Kirsty & Rob for being part of the shoot.

UCL technology helps to direct aid effort in Haiti
It's amazing to see how our contacts at UCL have been using their Virtual Disaster Viewer technology to help direct aid in Haiti to where it's needed most. Listen to Dr Tiziana Rossetto discuss her work and how it is supporting the relief effort.

One & Other & Tamsin.
3pm, Sunday 31st August 2009 I had my hour (of fame!) on Anthony Gormley's 4th Plinth installation, One & Other. I enjoyed every second, from the interview to being 18 metres high! I'd like to thank all my family and friends who came down to Trafalgar Sq to give me support and wave, plus those who watched me on the internet. Keep a look out for the book which will be published in October 2010.

One lunchtime, we spotted this paper wrapping used in the butchers 'The Butcher and Grill' in Wimbledon Village and had to share our typographic discovery.

Muse cover art wins again
For the second year running, Muse has scooped the accolade of top album cover design of the year. 'The Resistance' nods to psychedelic covers of the 60's and 70's, and continues Muse's run of favour following the success in 2008 of their album HAARP. Check out the winners on the Art Vinyl website.
